Also, can Cage keep objective when he realizes one of the prisoners is the man who once controlled his wife: the sinister Purple Man?

The Pull List: August 11th, 2010

Yet another overload of solid books this week including the first issue of Ultimate Comics Avengers 3, the latest issue of Superman and the debut of the new Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors book by Peter Tomasi and Fernando Pasarin. Let’s take a peek at this week’s Top 3.

#3 – X-FORCE SEX AND VIOLENCE #2 (OF 3) (Marvel)

WARNING: This issue lives up to the title. Not for the squeamish or easily embarrassed, wink wink. Wolverine finds out why the Assassins Guild is after Domino, and it’s a funny story. Well, Domino thinks it is. But Logan is grumpy and does’t see the humor in it, probably due to the fact that Dom’s actions have put a half dozen of the worlds deadliest assassins on their trail. And then things get complicated. Ahhh, romance.

#2 – ZATANNA #4 (DC)

Zatanna loves Vegas, and Vegas loves her – but should Zee be wary of the attentions of a handsome, well-connected casino owner? She can hold her own against the most ridiculous Royal Flush Gang ever assembled, and she can just about cope with her cousin Zachary’s immature antics, but she’d better watch out for the sultry fire demons that are hot on her heels!

#1 – ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #13 (Marvel)

There’s no other way to say it: In this issue…Spider-Man’s entire life is completely destroyed. Read the series that has fans and critics hooked as Brian Michael Bendis and David Lafuente rock out another unbelievable issue!

There’s definitely more quality books to pick up this week. Here’s the full list of releases from all the major publishers arriving in stores on Wednesday.
