Awesome Arena: The Punisher vs. Deathstroke

Last week, in our first post-Fan Expo match, we saw Green Lantern (83%) demolish Nova (17%) in a battle amongst the stars. That being said, we now turn our attention to this week’s Awesome Arena in which Marvel’s Punisher will be taking on DC’s Deathstroke. In a battle of master tacticians, who can possibly gain the upper hand to defeat the other?

It’s up to you!

Punisher

First Appearance:
Amazing Spider-Man #129 (February 1974)

Powers / Abilities:
- Tactical expert, highly trained in armed and unarmed combat
- Demolitions expert
- Peak human physical condition
- Exceptionally high pain tolerance

Tactical Advantage:
One of the most dangerous things about The Punisher, aside from his almost excessive use of firearms, has been his drive and determination fueled by his emotions surrounding the death of his loved ones years ago. It’s tough to say just how far this would push him against a man like Deathstroke but it would certainly give him at least somewhat of an advantage.

Deathstroke

First Appearance:
New Teen Titans #2 (December 1980)

Powers / Abilities:
- Enhanced physical and mental attributes
- Regenerative healing factor
- Expert martial artist
- Skilled armed/unarmed combatant
- Master tactician and strategist
- Access to hi-tech equipment
- Skillful manipulation

Tactical Advantage:
While both men have been expertly trained for various situations and scenarios, Deathstroke’s healing factor would ultimately give him the advantage over the damage resistant, but ultimately human, Punisher. Another major advantage would certainly be Deathstroke’s ability to seemingly predict movements before they’re made by his competitors.

As usual, this week’s battle comes down to you! Also, feel free to toss us a comment and speak your mind on this week’s match-up!
