Our Origin / About Us
Based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and originally formed in 2007 (known as SIX-16) as nothing more than a small page filled with nothing more than a fanatical fanboy’s (Mike) ramblings and observations with the world of comics, Panels of Awesome now stands before you as a website filled info on anything and everything super-powered.
While the site has seen it’s share of ups and downs, it remains a reliable source for news, reviews, commentary and more all focusing on the world of comic books and comic book culture.
Each week, we also feature a rotating roster of guests on our Podcast of Awesome audio show covering the week’s releases, the latest news and much more.
If you have a topic for a future show, a comment on something you’ve read here on POA or a general question regarding the website or podcast please let us know or check out our FAQ at the bottom of the page for (hopefully) all the answers to your questions.

Every Wednesday, the comic book geeks of POA unite to bring you the Podcast of Awesome filled with news, reviews, random thoughts and much more. If you have a question or comment concerning something you’ve heard on POA or would like to hear, feel free to send it our way or if you’d like to subscribe to future podcasts through iTunes (link), the option is available for you as well.

Q: How long has the site been around?
A: Panels of Awesome has been around, in some way shape or form, since 2007 originally going by the name SIX-16.
Q: What is the podcast all about?
A: Each week, usually Wednesdays, we gather the troops and record the week’s news, release and more and post it on POA.com for all to hear in the form of the Podcast of Awesome. (More info can be found above)
Q: Can I post an ad on POA?
A: Certainly! We’re always looking for advertisers and sponsors so if you’ve got something you’d like to post on POA, send us a message and we’ll prepare an ad package for you.
Q: Do you accept guest posts?
A: Absolutely! If you’ve got a post or would like to write one and submit it, you can certainly do so by contacting Mike via email. Be sure to provide either the post itself or examples of your writing.
Q: Do you accept review copies of comics for reviewing on the site or podcast?
A: Yes we do. For more information, please contact Mike via email.
