Warner Home Video has just announced that they will be releasing The Town: Ultimate Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray & DVD Combo Pack with UltraViolet Digital Copy on Feb. 7, 2012.  The film will feature an all new never-before-seen extended cut of the film (the only difference will likely be an alternate ending) along with the theatrical cut and extended cut previously available on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Also included will be a brand new 30 minute documentary called  The Town: A Director’s Journey, a photo-book, and some other collectibles.

I loved The Town when I saw it in theaters and am glad I held off on the previous Blu-Ray as this set looks like it’s going to be good.

Burbank, CA, October 31, 2011 – The Town, Ben Affleck’s riveting drama about a Boston bank robbery, gets a brand new ending for its February 7th debut as an Ultimate Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray Disc™ and DVD from Warner Home Video. Taking a page out of the theatrical release, which had its Boston premiere at Fenway Park, Warner will reveal the new ending at a one-time only special theatrical showing in Boston prior to the February 7th release.

The Town, which will be offered as a Blu-ray & DVD Combo Pack with UltraViolet Digital Copy*, takes you deep behind the scenes, and onto the streets and into the gritty history of Charlestown, Massachusetts. Added insights from director, writer and actor Ben Affleck will be contained in an all new feature length documentary that details his personal journey with the film, and with a never-before-seen alternate ending. Also included are film prop reproductions such as mug shots, employee files and FBI report.
