I’m a pretty big fan of what Jeff Parker’s done with Hulk over the past year. Taking what I felt was one of the biggest blunders following World War Hulk back in 2008 and transforming it into one of the most action-packed, intelligent (and sadly under-appreciated) titles published by Marvel takes a heck of a lot of work and somehow, someway, the writer has done just that.

Those who read the most recent issue of Hulk (#42) from a couple of weeks back no doubt were witness to his battle with General Fortean but what most of you don’t realize is that this battle could have (in a perfect world) taken place right outside our windows here at the POA office, which is located in the southern regions of Manitoba.

It’s always fun when we see characters heading up north and battling it out in our blistering hot/horrendously cold country but it’s a whole other thing entirely when they’re duking it out in what could essentially be your backyard.

It also doesn’t hurt that it takes place in a really, really good comic.
