Childhood favorite Tintin is back in director Steven Spielberg’s animated take on the long lasting series. iTunes Movie Trailers has debuted a brand new trailer for the film due for release on Dec. 21.
Set for release in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D theaters on Dec. 21, The Adventures of Tintin is being produced by Peter Jackson, with plans for Spielberg to produce and Jackson to direct the film’s sequel. Here is the official synopsis:
Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures Present a 3D Motion Capture Film “The Adventures of Tintin” directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Steven Moffat and Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish. Starring Jamie Bell (“Billy Elliot,” “Defiance”) as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig (“Quantum of Solace,” “Defiance”) as the nefarious Red Rackham.
The Adventures of Tintin first appeared in 1929 and was created by the Belgian artist Georges Rémi, who wrote under the pen name of Hergé.
I really enjoyed the Tintin cartoons as a child and the talent behind the new film are among the greatest storytellers of the last century, this will be a must see film for the holidays.
