Johnny Depp is returning to the world of Hunter S. Thompson with his latest film, The Rum Diary. An adaptation of his novel of the same name written in the early 1960′s – but not released until 1998 – The Rum Diary is about an American journalist who moves to Puerto Rico to write for a local paper…and well a lot of rum is drank and hi-jinx ensue.

The Rum Diary, as many know, marks Johnny Depp’s return to the world of author Hunter S. Thompson.  Depp previously starred in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which too was based off of a autobiographical Thomspon novel.  Diary was adapted for the screen and directed by Bruce Robinson.
