FanExpo 2011: ‘Alpha Flight’ Now An Ongoing Book

WRITTEN BY Mike Haynes   Posted on 28 August 2011   Comic Books, FanExpo 2011, Marvel News

Official word from Marvel coming out of FanExpo has Fred Van Lente, Greg Pak and Dale Eaglesham’s current eight issue Alpha Flight miniseries getting the go-ahead to continue as an ongoing book with both the writers and the artist staying on to see this thing through.

Van Lente, who has a nice interview with CBR on the subject of the new ongoing, mentions that the team will be expanding on the ‘Unity’ story the team already had planned so the book won’t be taking an entirely new direction once the ninth and tenth issues hit.

Check out the full interview (linked above) for a peek at what to expect as the book continues long into 2012 and beyond.

I love Van Lente as a writer, but an Alpha Flight ongoing is a definite pass for me.

Agreed. I think it's great for fans of the team to have a book get upgraded like this but I just haven't had a solid reason to really pick this one up. Making it an ongoing doesn't really change things for me personally.
