Entertainment Weekly has published the first official photo of Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover in director Clint Eastwood’s anticipated upcoming film J. Edgar.

J. Edgar (who was previously played most entertainingly by Bob Hoskins in Oliver Stone’s Nixon) explores the public and private life of one of the most powerful, controversial and enigmatic figures of the 20th century. As the face of law enforcement in America for almost fifty years, J. Edgar Hoover was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life.

The film also stars Naomi Watts, Judi Dench, Armie Hammer, Josh Lucas, Ken Howard, and opens November 9th in limited release, with a wider release following on November 11.
