Yesterday evening, during the Fables panel at San Diego Comic Con, writer Bill Willingham announced that a brand new series titled ‘Fairest’ would be spinning out of his popular Fables title with Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella as the book’s main characters during the first two story arcs.

Shortly afterwards, via Twitter, fan-favorite artist Adam Hughes reiterated some news of his own from the panel by announcing to his followers that he would be the regular cover artist for the new series as well and supplied some artwork from the upcoming series, which you can see above.

As a bonus for those who weren’t able to check it out before, I present the gorgeous cover to the upcoming Uncharted 3 tie-in comic which, as you can see, is also covered by Mr. Hughes. As with the image above, click photo below for the full version.

Needless to say, we’re pretty big fans of his work.

At the moment, there is no release date set for Fairest. I’d expect it probably sometime either late this year or early 2012.
