Thursday June 23, 2011 the World lost two vastly different, but equally important talents. One of the greatest comic book artists of all time, Gene Colan, and perhaps televisions greatest detective, Peter Falk.

Gene Colan died at the age of 84, after a battle with liver disease and cancer. Colan is best known for his work on the Marvel Comic titles Daredevil and Tomb of Dracula but also had incredible runs on Iron Man, Captain America, Sub-Mariner and Batman for DC Comics.

Peter Falk died at the age of 83 of undisclosed causes. Best known as the bad ass television detective Columbo, Falk has a long, varied list of television and film credits. Falk was also a highly acclaimed Broadway performer and earned two back to back Academy Award nominations for his performances in Murder Inc. (1960) and Frank Capra’s final film Pocketful of Miracles (1961).

Rest in Peace Gene Colan and Peter Falk, you will be dearly missed.
