This past Monday, during a conference call on Marvel’s “Next Big Thing”, Zeb Wells and Joe Madureira announced that they would be heading up a brand new ongoing Spider-Man book titled Avenging Spider-Man, set to be released later this year.

According to Wells, the stories taking place in Avenging will be in canon but won’t interfere with what current Amazing Spider-Man writer Dan Slott has going on in his book. Instead, the new title will focus more on Spider-Man teaming-up with his Avengers buddies… in case New Avengers just wasn’t cutting it for you anymore.

Spidey fans, this seems like an instant pick-up based solely on Joe Mad’s artwork, let alone Wells’ writing (Read Zeb’s Amazing Spider-Man ‘Shed’ arc that takes place around issue #630 if you need proof).

Avenging Spider-Man #1 arrives in stores this November.
