Tony Scott Set For Millar & McNiven’s ‘Nemesis’

While with Mark Millar’s tactic of selling movie rights to comics he’s barely written (see Kick-Ass) is hardly a surprise to most people, the fact that Tony Scott, director of such films as Top Gun, Days of Thunder, True Romance, Enemy of the State and The Taking of Pelham 123 to name a few, has been signed on to direct the recently announced big screen adaption of Millar and artist Steve McNiven’s Nemesis comic should be.
According to Bleeding Cool, the film has been officially picked up by 20th Century Fox with Scott selected to direct. Word is that the movie is being rushed by Fox with the intent to get it into production as soon as possible.
With only 2 issues of Nemesis released so far, is anyone else getting the feeling that this whole movie adaptation thing might be a little premature? I mean, with Kick-Ass at least the series had hype and a pretty big fan base early-on. Nemesis thus far has received pretty lukewarm reviews from critics and, from what I can tell, doesn’t appear to have sold quite as well as the first couple issues of Kick-Ass.
I suppose only time will tell.
